We go again (as all the football folk say).
Clearly we're all looking at the weather again. I'm going for the most optimistic forecast which shows it dry from 3pm Monday until after Tuesday's game.
Other weather forecasts are available.
COYS!

It's a lovely sunny day and no rain forecast, so I think we may just be OK this time; forecast for the weekend is not great - rain Thursday, Friday and Saturday; but Cheshunt's pitch looks in good nick (certainly compared to ours), so who knows? Anyway, let's make the most of tonight.

Anyway, let's make the most of tonight. As I have said before the met office and others couldn't forecast Xmas, so take the Thur/Fri/Sat rain 'forecast' with a pinch of salt. All I do to check weather is to look at one of the actual rain radar sites, check the local wind direction by going outside and then make an informed decision about what to do based on that, and not a forecast that is usually over ramped with red/amber/yellow warnings about wind and rain etc. No wonder people are frightened to go outside and do things!! Need a win 2nite 4 sure

A win by 4 clear goals and we go up a place in the table. On the cards.

Not the worst evening I've spent at Cheriton Road, but we had to provide our own entertainment, because the game was utter shite.

Painful to watch, but at least we got a point from this shapeless affair. We might have had all three but a wonderful save from their young goalkeeper towards the end.. He managed to get down to a header and flick it away Gordan Banks style. The highlight of the game for me.
There was plenty of effort from both sides but I can't recall more than two passes being strung together all night. Both sides need points for safety and the game showed why. Also, why do we keep taking Smith off when he looks the only one likely to get us a goal.
I still think we need some pace down the sides, with at least one specialist winger. We were five at the back most of the night in a game we needed to win.
Anyway, it is one more point towards safety.COYS

Poor game of football nothing in behind the defence. Played into the defenders rather than behind them so they have to turn . Good Save from there keeper from our only clear chance. Dont understand all moving to one side when the keeper kicks it , as Derry isn’t the only tall player that can head the ball. Point gained two lost .

Encouraging crowd on a very cold night.
There is support in the town if we can get the team right. Very much a work in progress at the moment, like the curate's egg, good in parts!
Provided we stay up ,there is much work to be done on the recruitment side methinks!

I was another that ventured out to be far from entertained. We had one chance that was saved 'Gerry puts it in words very well'. They had quite a few chances including a sitter which their player put into the grammar school grounds. A point is better than none...on to Cheshunt!

I thought that the pitch was in excellent condition considering the amount of rain we have had in the last week. As for the football, I've seen better games in the Herald Cup!

I'd say point gained.
PBTFC: disallowed goal; hit bar; shot into HGS for 3 yards out. FIFC: Gordon Banks style save from PBTFC keeper.
A shame Seasiders Radio had that as their first home game commentary.
