Official Statement:
The League have advised that the rearranged game (Basildon United) will now be played on Tuesday 18th February with a 7.45 pm KO.
Our scheduled game against Cray Wanderers that was due to be played on the 18th has now been postponed, new date TBA in due course.

So the inability of the league to step in when a club can’t host games means it’s affecting our home league fixtures. On top of that, they were due to play Canvey Island on the 18th in a game that was postponed at the beginning of these pitch problems and now has to be put back even further. It’s a farce.

Being optimistic that’s not the next 2 weeks taken up with cup ties that we can’t guarantee will go ahead as well as Brightlingsea at home and Dartford away potentially needing fitting in so there’s very little point them bothering to schedule the Cray game in unless they do it for late April.

We face potentially 9 midweek games between now and the end of the season. 4 in the KSC, 4 in the Velocity and Cray in the league. There’s 10 free Tuesday nights (as we can’t play the day after Margate away on Easter Monday, although could potentially play the Wednesday I guess).

whole thing is a bit odd. They’ve got a new twitter account now. Website hasn’t been updated in weeks. Can only assume their media team went rogue.

36 hours to go and Basildon is due more rain tomorrow and it appears there’s a lack of news on what the plan is so I’m assuming we’re walking into another postponement. Farcical.

Perhaps he’s afraid of water.Should hear today whether we journey over there for tomorrow’s long awaited game.If not perhaps a late switch to our place. Then again after yesterday’s weather and more rain day today and even tomorrow evening will our pitch be fit.....

If the game was to be switched Should have been done yesterday. So we had today and tomorrow to work on our pitch if needed.

A club with a long standing pitch issue shouldn’t be allowed to keep walking into postponements that are inevitable, especially given how contesting things are going to get if this game doesn’t happen tomorrow. Either find a suitable host, switch the venue or forfeit the game. Stop messing people about when you know it’s not going to be played.

Just checked our pitch. Dry and firm. No work needed at the moment.

They have not had a home game for 4/5 weeks. Our game is still not on their fixtures list.

Just speculation but there’s a chance this could put the Cray Wanderers game at risk of being postponed further. The Cray game that was postponed to make room for this game that had no chance of every going ahead.
No chance of giving Dartford a call and playing them tonight instead I suppose.

This cup is turning into such a negative competition now. Bad enough having to play a game in it on the Saturday before Xmas (should of been a league game with a potential big crowd). Moved a home league game vs relatively local opponents and fellow play off chasers Cray and now this game postponed again. Surely after a certain amount of postponements the game should be moved to neutral or our ground.

Surely after a certain amount of postponements the game should be moved to neutral or our ground. with a club facing long term pitch problems it’s mad that things can get to the morning of the game. Could have played 2 different games tonight, home or away. As a plus I think it benefits us moving cray back, more so if it’s moved further because of tonight’s postponement. Callum was still missing tonight, plus the weather isn’t great. Hopefully it’ll be a nice night when it does get played and with the buzz of the title chase we can hit 500 on a midweek.

Getting tight if the final is being played on 1st April and still two more rounds after the Basildon game.
