Hope their keeper is OK.
As for the game, which of course I wasn't at, good that we scored three goals again, but shipping three in the first half is a tad worrying - we could easily have conceded more than two at Dover as well.
Odd, because pre-season suggested that we were pretty tight at the back, but not so hot up front, whereas the last two games suggest the reverse, if anything.
Did we defend badly today, or did they simply finish well? If we do have a problem, what is it? Lack of pace? I thought that was a bit of an issue on Tuesday.
Anyway, a chance to get all three points when the game is eventually replayed.

There's a bit if a heated discussion going on on Isthmian fans Facebook page. Extract (sorry about the language):
"Was at the wingate v Folkestone game today the wingate keeper got taken out mid air and went down for a considerable time , after a while the defibrillator was called for and an ambulance, so after 25 minutes or so the referee abandoned the game (quite rightly) as the keeper was still immobile on the floor , despite this the Folkestone manager screamed at the ref calling him a coward for doing so , what a classy guy ay ,it’s fuckin step 3 you dickhead , it doesn’t matter, imagine having this clown as your manager"

Tragic end to a very interesting game, their keeper was unconscious for some time. The game HAD to be called off. No option for the ref.
Stumpy asks why we were 3-1 down at halftime. Well, John, Wingate is an excellent, well-established, good side. They have some excellent players, especially the winger Obi, who got two of their goals. Made the playoffs last season and it's obvious why.
We on the other hand are still in transition. But we have some excellent players too and I am confident we will emerge with a strong team soon.
We almost scored in the first minute, but their keeper made an amazing save from Gayles' header. They promptly went up the other end and took the lead. Before half time they had scored two more. So we went with things looking bleak at half time 3-1 down.
It really was a game of two halves this one. We were well up for it after the break. Gaylie not only geeing them up, but coming up for corners and scoring two in succession to make it 3-3. We might well have nicked it but for that unfortunate accidental collision between Derry and the keeper with five to go, as they were at this stage down to ten men, following a sending-off for two yellows for one of theirs.
Not a great venue, but the pitch, a proper grass one, is excellent and allows them to play an attractive possession game. We had to up our game to get something out of it in that second half, which, to be fair, we did !! COYS!

Bee in bonnet? :- "Update on the wingate keeper I was at the game behind the goal when it happened! Some of the Folkestone lot should be ashamed of their actions today! Their manager calling the ref a coward for abandoning the game, players playing loud music in their changing room, some of their fans being more worried about how much time will be added. Why did the previous post about wingate being abandoned get removed today?"

Firstly best wishes to their keeper. A speedy recovery and back in action soon.
How near full time was the incident? Is it possible to agree to share the spoils or does it have to be replayed?

I wondered that because I thought I remembered something about results standing if there were only a couple minutes to play, so I looked up the FA rules on abandoned games; they say that abandoned games MUST be replayed and don't appear to make provision for any exceptions to that.

As for the other stuff, it's neither here nor there.

Highlights are on YouTube now. Got to say that our defending on their goals isn't great - work to do there. On the other hand, our goals are all well taken.

Will the game be replayed ?

Pretty sure it will, cause the FA rules say that abandoned games must be replayed; maybe if it was late in the season with nothing at stake and both teams agreed the result might be allowed to stand, but not otherwise.

Didn't we have 4 goals in the last five minutes of a game against then in the dim and distant past?

Didn't we have 4 goals in the last five minutes of a game against then in the dim and distant past? Certainly did, Geoff. Was 0-0 at 90 minutes, 2-0 to us (Draycott x 2 I recall) by 93 minutes (or so) and 2-2 at full time, which was about 3 minutes after that. Can't remember what season it was.
