Disappointing on the face of it, but preseason results don't mean too much. Hopefully better on Saturday, when I will at last see our new squad in action.

This was the first opportunity for many to see the new team tonight. I felt it was not taken up. We lacked penetration, particularly down the flanks; the build-up and finishing were not great.
So let's hope for a better performance on Saturday. There were some trialists in the team tonight and we are still waiting to see something like a first eleven. the sooner the better.

On the positive side tonight...the ground looks so much better. The pitch has been transformed from last season and will allow us to play better football. The opening up of the Dugout Bar on the pitch has transformed the whole look from that side.
Access to the ground though with just one entrance, was far too slow, and this was a pre-season friendly !!
I have seen us play far better than last night in some of our other pre-season games, so I know we can improve. It's important I think, to get a full side on the pitch as soon as we can.

First half we were outplayed but second half with 4 subs at half time and then another quick one when a sub sadly pulled up with a hamstring we were much better and controlled the game Some promising individual performances but struggled to put things together. Ground looks great and team has lots of potential

People won’t bother if admission speeds through the turnstiles aren’t improved significantly…. ( summary of comments received in the shop).

Hopefully for league games there can also be someone on the entry/exit gate alongside Stripes able to scan digital season tickets and get those people through nice and quickly, that should make a difference, you'd hope.

Have to say, for a pre season the entrance process was painful. Ditto leaving the ground via the gate next to Bar Invicta. Why can't both gates be opened? Being channeled down a dark passage with railings could be dangerous in mid winter.

It’s all about channeling people towards the dugout and nothing to do with the paying spectators. Unless they change it there will be carnage come the Dover game
