Yes, the derby is something to look forward to, although rumour has it that we may have segregation imposed on us, which is a pity, because these days they have a few idiots who think it's big to misbehave at away games.
As for the doom and gloom on their forum, that's nothing new - anyone who thinks our forum is occasionally negative hasn't visited theirs.

Sadly given the behaviour of a minority of Dover's followers segregation seems the only sensible course of action. Personally I'm all for it, as I think it helps enhance even further the us-versus-them atmosphere and should make it a cracking occasion. I'm sure all of us know a fair few who will come to those games even if they don't usually follow the clubs closely, so hopefully big crowds and six points for the Stripes!

But also potential Kent derbies with Dartford, Chatham, Margate, Ramsgate, Cray Valley PM depending on final results of the season

How would segregation work in practice?
Cricket end…small tea hatch…long queues. no toilet facilities as I imagine access to Cugs Castle would be denied. No cover if it rains. No bar. Sounds about right given how they welcome away fans.

Sounds about right given how they welcome away fans. That's how it happened on our first (& only?) segregated match. www.cheritonroad.co.uk/1990In January 2006 there was possibly the first ever segregation of fans at the ground in its entire history when AFC Wimbledon FC visited. The away team were given the Cricket ground end and half of the Grandad stand. The decision had been taken after advice from the AFC Wimbledon safety officer and Kent Police as unfortunately there had been problems at a number of Wimbledon away games this season with the majority of incidents happening at grounds in Kent. This had been following crowd disturbances earlier in the season at Bromley, Ramsgate and Dartford. In many ways the ground was and still is very well set up for crowd segregation and home & away turnstiles. May be useful in the future – here’s hoping.

Yes but at half time they let us all change ends as know trouble at all. And when we played in the reverse fixture we stood right in the middle of their home support and no hassle what so ever..

You're completely right John. Chris and I were doing the PA back in those days. Given that there was no trouble, I had a chat with the policeman in charge (probably cleared it first with someone else - can't remember) and asked him, since both sets of fans would appreciate it, if we could change ends at half time if we organised it through the PA so that their fans went down the granddad stand side and we went down the other side of the ground, which is what we did. They really appreciated it.
The other time(s) we played them at Cheriton Road there was no segregation and no trouble, although there were some verbal exchanges, quickly defused, when one of us, who should have known better, started chanting "MK Dons, MK Dons, MK Dons...". No names.

There was one obnoxious Dover fan who seemed to incite things and be a general stirrer who went by the moniker of Champ at Work, but not sure if still around etc
