I think we're safe anyway, but win tonight and I reckon we're home and dry.

Would probably be our top scorer if he had been here all season.
Just a draw will take us above Canvey on goal difference...

Elsewhere, Hastings have gone 1-0 up against Hornchurch with an 89th minute goal, in front of 1200+ people. Jealous.

Whatever the performance was like, pretty pathetic result against a team that don't win many.
I think the problem is that we just aren't very good.

I'll take your word for it, I can't comment as I wasn't at the game. Nor was I. I'm not commenting on the game, just the result. As for us not being very good, that's based on the games I have seen - we might have been better in some of the others. Joking aside, I'll just be glad when this dismal season is finished.

Despite a late rally, Invicta failed to get the away point they probably deserved.
The addition of Sanogo and Mampolo for the last half an hour raised the tempo and gave some shape to our unfamiliar 4-2-3-1 formation, but just failed to get us the away point in this game lacking in quality throughout.
We started with Tom Derry up top on his own, and he played well, winning lots of headers, but he was somewhat isolated with this new formation.
We opened the scoring with a penalty, well converted by Dave Smith and looked comfortable for a while, but they scored to make it 1-1 at the break. They had a penalty award just after halftime which I felt our keeper should have saved. Shortly after they went 3-1 up via another penalty award.
We were on top for the last ten or so ,but just failed to get that equalizing goal. Worth a try I suppose, 4-2-3-1 but for me it did not improve the side.

The manager did not mention, nor was asked about, his team's formation last night.
I think that this had a significant impact on last night`s performance. We did not look at home with the system, which we have not used before. Looked very condensed to me. Derry thrives on balls coming in from the flanks, I didn't notice much of that. Surprised they did not change it around in the second half.
