I think certain people need to take off the rose tinted spectacles and realise that the new Chairman is only here for one purpose and that is not to see FIFC prosper . It’s well documented that he wants Hythes ground to build on and for them to ground share with us . It’s very odd how he came out of nowhere to get the position and has done what since he’s been here ?

I’m not always the most welcoming of changes and may often greet them with a degree of cynicism. However, we have what we have- a group of people who by ’due process’ have been elected to the Board as Chairman and Directors. Their vision for the club has been well documented and, like it or not, many changes are afoot. The most obvious is the Dugout but surely this makes sense as priority must be given to establishing a regular income stream before addressing non profit matters. Invicta ‘fans’ or not, they are here and unless hounded out by negativity, will see the job through. Us terrace dwellers may be the life blood of the club but unless we embrace and support we will be condemned to a life of miserable griping.
No I wasn’t paid to say this!

I'm more worried about the future of the vlub than stiring. I've already seen one Folkestone club go to the wall.
I don't want a ground share. Do others? If the general consensus is "no" then we need to communicate that to the board. They can ignore it, but at least we'd register our concerns.
If the concensus is "yes" then so be it.

Think about it Finbarr. On a pleasant October evening and after a generally good string of results, Hythe could only draw in 170 punters for what was--and what turned out to be--an attractive fixture against promotion rivals Sevenoaks Town. Just how many would be prepared to travel the extra few miles to Cheriton Road in mid-winter ? Ain't gonna happen !!

This would not happen until we get a new 3G pitch.

I was ever thus at Hythe as long as I can remember Andy. Geoff sums up my feelings articulately.

Invictasaint said,
"However, we have what we have- a group of people who by ’due process’ have been elected to the Board as Chairman and Directors".
An inquisitive responder may well ask, what was the due process involved and who 'elected' them? Was this truly a good example of democracy in action?

Hythe fans are not in the least worried as most know the origins of the allegations which are 95% tosh. The club continues to operate in an honest and straightforward way to the satisfaction of the various authorities that it comes into contact with. As hinted at earlier the main concerns are getting more local people to both come along to matches and/or to help out around the ground. Surely that is the case at very many non-league clubs.

Can't believe this topic is still going, as outsider says it's 95% tosh. Must be a slow news day.

We also had a new face against Haringey but no mention of him so far.
I would think a ground share at reachfields would suit you Mick.😀
