I’m not sure how a fullback is the obvious replacement for an attacking midfielder Full back? Yes, full back. Or also a wingback if you want to be pedantic. Occasionally further up as a winger such as Tuesday night against VCD or away to Chichester. On either side. He’s very versatile. One thing Jordan has not been, certainly in his current spell at the club, is a central midfielder. Attacking or otherwise. He was used there once against Cheshunt in October 2020 for 45 minutes, swapping positions with Aaron Simpson at half time (I can’t remember which one started left back and which in midfield before they then changed. Shirt numbers suggest it was Jordan that started left back) Anyway, I just didn’t get how he was the “obvious” replacement for Scott Heard. I’d have suggested if anybody from the bench yesterday could have been disappointed that they didn’t get minutes given Heardy’s absence it’s probably Kieron. And to allay any fears, Jordan seems very happy at the club and certainly doesn’t appear to be begging to leave to get away from the nasty manager who treated him so badly in his first spell at the club that he decided to come back. He dropped out of the team when injured and is behind JV and Alfie in the pecking order, which I’m not sure many could argue with although I’d consider giving JV a rest on Tuesday myself. A must win game however so I doubt the manager will rest anybody.

I’m not sure how a fullback is the obvious replacement for an attacking midfielder For a start, Jordan has played mostly as a wing back this season and, more importantly, he has played nearly all his career, including his previous time with us, as a midfielder, one who chips in a few goals; he isn't prolific, but neither particularly is Draycs when he plays in that position - and he is not as good as Jordan at passing and linking play, which is the main part of a midfielder's role. Next you'll be telling us that Alfie is a full back Alfie Paxman is the best full back in the league.

Alfie Paxman is the best full back in the league. And if he was playing as a midfielder he would be one of the best midfielders in the league, if he was playing as a wide attacker, he would be one of the best wide attackers in the league - he's just a good footballer. Easy to forget, but we didn't sign Alfie to play as a full back, he ended up there pretty much by default; and, if the pre-season games were anything to go by, I'm fairly sure that the intention this year was for Aaron Simpson to play there and Alfie to play further forward, but sadly Aaron's bad time with covid put paid to that. I agree that, with the squad we've got, then Alfie is the only player we have suited to either the left fullback or left wingback role - but it's far from the only position he can play and (I could be wrong, you'd have to ask him) I doubt whether it's his favourite position.

I agree with Gerry and Stumpy on Jordan and would go further by saying that he deserves the right back slot atm.JV struggling at the moment ,maybe to many games exposed in our lopsided system .While Luke looks a good exciting player would it not have been better to bring in a full back and push Alfie forward ?As for Alfie and Jordan being happy I seriously hope so ,our other younger players haven't had a look in imo

It’s just a pity we can’t play 15 players at a time. Then we would not have any problems.

So it’s now Jordan deserves the Right back position? Not noticed JV struggling?

Just watched the highlights. Does not make a good watch, to have lost that game is criminal really. Their goal should never have gone in and Tim looked rightly unhappy. Thank goodness for Luke.

Carshalton have done a video too - here:
They obviously have an expensive camera because the picture quality is superb - but the crowd sound is so low you can't really hear it and there is what I suspect is a put on afterwards commentary - I much prefer ours, where the atmosphere comes across.
They have two angles on their equaliser - one pretty much the same as ours, the other from behind the goal. Not Tim's finest moment, but he hasn't made many mistakes this season. One thing that you can't help noticing is that, Luke's goal aside, our shooting is terrible all game long, either off traget or scuffed. One of those days really, because a lot of our approach play was really good. One that got away.

Their camera was much bigger but no better in quality, YouTube doesn’t take anything higher than 1080p so I don’t even bother trying to film and edit in 4K

So painful to watch all those missed chances again.
I thought at the time some that much of our approach play was good and that we were on for top most of the game…….but the misses AAH!
