I wonder why clubs and league do not mandate automatic postponement in conditions where the area is subject to formal weather warning. 20-40mm of rain is forecast for this afternoon with gales gusting to 50mph so every chance of surface water causing a late postponement. And most important, Bishops Stortford and their supporters are being expected to undertake a hazardous motorway journey with conditions at their worst and every chance of delay with the QE2 bridge expected to be closed. No advantage to Invicta either as the gate is bound to be suppressed. Surely more sensible to reschedule it now before anyone starts travelling.

Similar situation at Hythe tonight but this post is far to sensible to be considered.

Would certainly help our situation out today if sense prevails and the matches are called off early. If fitness tests are failed beforehand then we would be down to the side Fubar has alluded to. That would be a case of frozen assets perhaps.

A return for a certain Simpson 😁 If Aaron has recovered, that's good for us and, more importantly perhaps, great for him. I'm sulking now because, having committed to not going, the weather is nowhere near as bad as it was even half an hour ago.

Into injury time and still 0-0. Worthing drawing 2-2. Could have made up some ground in them.

We got a really tough competitive game tonight in the middle of a gale. Both teams have to be applauded for giving us a terrific game in really appalling underfoot conditions.
In the context of our injury problems, Matt Newman and Ryan Johnson were both unavailable tonight, this is in my view, a valuable point. Bishop Stortford is a strong no-nonsense, robust outfit who would push us at the best of times with our full side, so tonight has to be seen as a good result.
They started with that strong wind behind them and got the better of things early on. We gradually started to get our game sorted and in fact, had a number of good chances to take the lead ( Mev very nearly added a second headed goal to go with Saturday's one) but it was cleared off the line. Heardy too had a one on one which was cleared, so we went in at the break 0-0.
The second half proved to be just as competitive with both sides trying for the winner. Our team spirit again showed itself when we had to do some last-ditch defending at times. But we also created chances and Dave Smith had a wonderful long drive drift just over the bar. Ade was pulled to the ground when through which the ref ignored ( he allowed a lot of pulling and shoving to go unpunished I felt ).
Tim was rightly named MOTM, which he probably could have had in any of the last three games, with important saves in all of them.
I think this will turn out to be a valuable point in due course. Well done you lads in awful conditions.

We had to reshuffle last night given the injuries. Jordan came in at right-back and JV at centre back with Mev in at midfield. All did well with JV in particular having a tough Job with their big number nine. BS took him off in the second half, so he must have done well !!
Ian Draycott took over from Mev for the last half hour and linked the play excellently as he does. Also saw Aaron Simpson`s name on the subs bench. Could be a big boost.
