Why do I get the feeling that even if we had won eight nil there would have been a longer list of grievances as to why we didn't deserve it?

Why do I get the feeling that even if we had won eight nil there would have been a longer list of grievances as to why we didn't deserve it? I’m happy to win every game from now until April and not deserve it. Hope every goal we score is offside and all our opponents should have had 2 penalties.

Remember one from Draycs v Ramsgate a few years ago when he turned the defender on his back nutmegs the next one and finished the goal by sending the keeper the wrong way😊 Unforgettable!

My personal favourite of recent(ish) Invicta years is Jimmy Jackson's 40 yarder in an evening game... Rich Murrill will know the game... what a player, thought he was top, top class.

Have to add a vote for Jimmy Jackson's goal. I think it may have been against AFC Wimbledon but probably wrong. One of the finest players to wear an Invicta shirt, and a lovely guy off the field.

Looking forward to the highlights for the McKenzie goal. Looks a shrewd signing by Cugs. How long is it going to be before he starts in place of Dos Santos? I understand the value of a big striker to build the team around but he only has 1 goal in 11 games now and his fitness has been questionable at times. Needs to be rested in my opinion with all the games we have coming up.
Best goal I've seen live at Cheriton Road is the 45 yard half volley from Ellis Remy at the cricket ground end. Remember being right behind it - quality goal.

2 yards offside? It's official www.mersthamfc.com/matchreports " It was a superb dipping volley from all of 30 yards out by the Invicta sub McKenzie, but without taking anything away from the finish, he was at least a couple of yards offside when the ball was knocked up to him. But remarkably, the flag failed to go up and the game was over as a context." They got a goal as well (2 feet over the line). These fine decisions eh? 1-3 would have made it so different.

Nice try, but need to brush up on detail. Johan scored the first goal, not Heard!

Superb finish from Mckenzie, not sure if it’s one of the best in Folkestone’s History though. Take nothing away from him though, great finish and impact so far. Thanks as ever for the highlights!

Reminds me of a goal Draycs scored in a 5-3 win against Guernsey, which was from even further wide and a tighter angle, and was definitely the goal of that particular season, but left out of the goal of the season voting because Sammy hadn't filmed it...

Is was better in the flesh and probably would have looked better if it was at home and I was filming from the tower

Great video loved it great goals nothing from the players or Neil after. I’ve got a load of audio for a podcast but no time to edit so going for a Merstham/Brightlingsea double podcast early next week. Moved interviews from video to audio for now as people were switching off the YouTube and it’s a million times easier for me to grab a clip on my phone than have to set up a camera for it, and not sure the lads like the camera that much anyway! Anyway, got Cugs, Chinny and JV after the game so should have their thoughts up on Sunday/Monday.

Is was better in the flesh and probably would have looked better if it was at home and I was filming from the tower Still looks bloody good though. At least this season we can be sure of the best goal of the season being on camera - which I'm sure everyone is grateful to you for. That Draycs goal was the second season in a row where the actual goal of the season was excluded from the voting. The year before Johan Ran from inside our own half, beat half the oppo defence (I think it was Bognor - if not it was Burgess Hill) and then slotted it into the bottom corner from the edge of the box - it was filmed, but left out by Sammy because the sun was shining into the lens, he hadn't zoomed in fast enough and so you couldn't see it very clearly. Both of those are near the top of my Victor Meldrewish whinge list, just below underplaying Joe Taylor and then letting him go

I think that the vast majority of the supporters will agree with you in sayin that Jimmy Jackson was not only a top player here but a great gent off the pitch as well

Part of the reason I was so keen to get us filming was the thought of missing these things. As it is we’re going to be able to have one hell of a goal of the season competition because the lads have spoiled us with some absolute crackers this season.

As an aside, Ira’s goal v Maldon & Tiptree missed out on the November GOTM shortlist because he wasn’t in the camera shot when he hit it and he wasn’t happy! He had a video of it sent by one of their lads from their automated camera but I can’t use that. Luckily his Enfield goal won anyway.

In a sliding doors moment:
Chinny and Kieron went for a piss near the camera not long before they came on. Kieron left us a little audio present. If they hadn’t I’d never have gone to check on the camera, adjusted it slightly and Chinny would have been just out of shot when he hit his shot.
So thanks Kieron!
