Worthing now 2 up, Horsham 3 up, and Enfield winning 2-1, so nobody doing us any favours just yet, except ourselves.

Well done lads! Sounds like a classic and that man Chinedu is on the score sheet again! What an acquisition that is! I would like to see his goal, apparently it was a cracker.

Another terrific away performance from the lads.
This was no walkover. In fact, our first goal from Johan ( good finish from him!) came somewhat against the run of play. They had come out of the blocks having a right go at us with some really clever forward play. Their burly but skillful number nine was proving a right handful for Finn until he finally got the measure of him. JV on his five hundredth appearance was having a stormer, (he won every single header from what I could see.) Alfie's goal, our second, when freed by a lovely lofted pass from my personal MOTM Scott Heard settled us, and from there on we gradually got on top.
But it was never easy, and our defense had to be excellent, which they were to a man today to keep that clean sheet. Chiedstu McKenzie is having a sensational start to his Invicta career. He joined the fray on about sixty-five minutes and promptly proceeded to score the goal of this or any other season. A real Worldy. The ball stood up for him outside the right-hand side of their box, he looked up and volleyed it into the far corner of the net. It was awesome to watch. I was two yards away from him when he measured and then struck it perfectly. Goal the minute it left his foot.! This made it 3-0 and we were now feeling much more comfortable.
Merstham never gave up though and we had to work hard to protect our clean sheet. Ira ( another excellent game from him ) finished the scoring with a coolly taken penalty after he himself had been taken down in the box to make it 4-0. Apart from his goal, his all around play indicates that McKenzie is a really good acquisition for Invicta.
All the lads played well today ( Ronnie classy again ) but JV and for me, Scottie Heard, in particular, were outstanding. ( Not to mention McKenzies `worldie`!!)

Some of their fans indicate it was daylight robbery. Need to follow the link for the discussion. Thoughts?

It’s a funny old game....supporters of both sides watch the same game but have completely different points of view.Personally I thought Merstham forwards looked quite lively throughout and a handful whereas their defence not too convincing although their keeper made several saves and no chance with any of the goals scored. Also overall it was a clean game and the ref and his assistants not much to do other than flag for number of offsides. Our first two goals were fair enough, wasn’t in line for the third,McKenzies volley from outside the box and no protesters when Ira was upended for his penalty. So a “ daylight “ robbery....I’m not so sure.

We should have had the vision to realise - 2020 - 2-0 first half, 2-0 second half.

Unfortunately they haven’t got a lot to appeal last time they played us in August they was the same moaning at the officials etc. Good going forward poor at the back.

Team sheet available Tim starts again Interesting. Before the Margit game: Cugley opted for the extra experience of Tim Roberts in goal but said the decision was no reflection on the man he replaced, Henry Newcombe. He explained: “Henry’s done really well for us and is a top keeper but I just thought he looked a little nervy in the last game. “For the sort of game it was I felt I needed a bit more experience and Tim gives you that. I count myself lucky to have two such high-quality keepers.” www.kentonline.co.uk/folkestone/sport/youve-done-us-proud-219287/
