Very sad news about Willie. He helped me so much when I joined the Club in 2018 and I still accepted the fact that I would only ever come runner up in the Kit Man of the year award. There are so many funny stories about our trips to away games and winding him about the food that the Home Club would lay on after the game, knowing what his reaction would be. Neil Cugley, Bob Dix and Richard Murrill have summed up perfectly in the tribute on the main Club website. RIP Willie and thanks mate, you were a true Folkestone Invicta legend

A really lovely man , he’d often come sit on our table before games for a chat , we made up a song for him and he’d give us a wave when we sang it , I will miss him greatly 🧡🖤

Sad news yet again, that one of the true club legends has passed away.
Always good for a bit of banter on match days everyone will have a memory of him .
RIP

That is incredibly sad news. I have so many memories of Willy. Most importantly he was incredibly loyal to the club, and those involved who he came in to contact with on a regular basis and came to trust. My first meeting with him sticks in my memory, as I said "Hello Willy", his reply being "My names William not Willy". He did relent later as we got to know each other, and became invariably shortened to Will.
Were it not for the unwavering care and help that Bob, Neil and Pauline took of Willy, his life would have been much harder, but Bob, Neil and Pauline and the football club became his saviour and spiritual home. He would have been lost without it.
RIP Willie. You will never be forgotten by all who knew you.

Makes you realise how special it is for clubs like ours to provide such a wonderful sense of community, where so many people can be brought together in friendship through a shared love of the game. It really is a quite wonderful thing. RIP Willy.
