Quite excited by this new signing that hasn't been mentioned on the boards, as far as I could tell anyway. I signed him for Torquay United in Football Manager 24 and he's only gone and scored 20 goals in 27 games. He's also classed as a potential League 2 player. See, that's cheered us all up hasn't it? Only bad news is I agreed on £950 p/w to get us back into the National division and now I can't sign anyone else with no wage budget left.

He looked pretty good first time out against Hastings. Not sure about Football Manager as a guide to real life football - A few years ago, I managed Invicta into the Champions League, still with a squad largely composed of players that we had in the side back then that won promotion to the Isthmian Prem. Amazing what you can do with the Editor Then that computer died and I never got to play the Champions League - and I couldn't be bothered to start again after I bought a new computer. Since it was on Steam, I might still be able to retrieve it and carry on for all I know - but I've decided I am much too old to be playing computer games..........

God, what a shambles! Since we're clearly not building for the future, it looks like a case of just clinging on to our premier status this season and then putting a lot of work into building a squad for next season - and maybe the best way to do that is to get in an experienced manager who can bring in players he knows well and trusts?
As for Ruben - he looked decent in his first couple of games, but faded a bit after that - and he definitely isn't as good as a fit Ira or Jordan for that matter.

Watching from the sidelines has been tough this season, 4 months ago we were talking about no changes in a formation or performance. Now changes are happening and improvements in the last two performances on the pitch improved (through new players and manager) I think it’s clear to see there is a drive to progress the club, fellow fans and friends attending the meetings have also sited some positive communication.

It has been tough. The improved communication is certainly welcome, especially as that has never been the club's strongest point over the years.
On the playing side we still need to improve significantly if we are to pull away from the relegation scrap. I agree that the last two performances are an improvement on the performances in the couple of months before, but then they could hardly be worse. I say I agree; I wasn't at the Margate game, but the result was good, even if cynics would say that everybody beats Margate at the moment. The Wingate game was definitely an improvement on the Hastings and Hashtag games, and to get a draw against a team that have got more points in their last ten games than anyone else is a good result - but I wouldn't call it a great performance; we didn't have many chances at all and the draw was mainly down to Joe having a good game in goal and their finishing being poor.
Yes, there are some rays of hope - Jordan being back (should never have been loaned out) and Ira getting back to fitness can only give us more going forward; but, like I've said above, we need a major squad rebuild if we want to challenge next season - this season is just about staying up, and has been for a few months now.

I think stumpy and tigger need a reality check. We stand on the terraces watching and then you keyboard with criticism and no solutions. I can’t imagine the budget for the team wages, the joining fees and leaving fees to get rid of players in contract is a cheap one, nor an easy one to organise which I hope Drury has to do. Also if your pinning all hopes of a great attack on a 20 year old unproven shoulders then your even more naive than I already think from reading your comments. He didn’t make faversham team in step 5, I am personally glad to see him back because as a trip with Smith and Derry I can only see us getting goals every game.
If I read just your feedback I think I’d be taking a drive to beachy head within a month. Back your team or support someone else 🧡🖤

Also if your pinning all hopes of a great attack on a 20 year old unproven shoulders then your even more naive than I already think from reading your comments. Back your team or support someone else 🧡🖤 I stand on the terraces as well, and have done just about every home game for the last 25 seasons, the occasional away one as well. Believe it or not, I don't stand there moaning (not out loud anyway) and, when I do raise my voice, it's generally to encourage, never to actually moan - there are other people to do that. I go to football to enjoy watching my team, not to see them suffer. It's not being disloyal to the club to criticise sub-standard performances, and, sadly, there have been a lot of those this season. And you are just plain wrong to say that I, and some others, do not suggest any solutions; we can't implement them, of course, it's basically wasted breath, but we suggest them; you might not like them or agree with them, but that's fine, it's a free world and this is a forum for opinions, not a cheer-leading site; we've got the Twitter feed for that. I might be a lot of things, but "naive" is not one of them. I don't think Jordan Ababio on his own is going to turn us into an attacking powerhouse, just that he is a good player and that it's good that he's back, that's all. I don't want to get into a silly prolonged argument on here with somebody that I don't even know, but I resent being told how I should think and/or act - particularly by someone who, as far as I can tell, has been interested in Invicta for a matter months rather than years - if that is wide of the mark, then apologies; I'm just going by when you joined the forum; perils of anonymity, I'm afraid. We can probably agree on a couple of things; first and foremost we need to stay up this season and that is down to the manager and the players that we have. Assuming we do that then, if we want to get back at least where we have been for the last few years and hopefully progress beyond that, then, on the footballing side, we need a major rebuild ahead of next season. I don't bear Andy Drury any ill will at all; Mev and Edgy were dropped in at the deep end half-way through last season and he has been dropped into it half way through this, perhaps an even deeper end. It's an unenviable task and I'm sure he's doing the best job he can. It so happens that I think that, given where we are now, we would be better off with a more experienced manager next season. Some people will agree with that, some won't; it's a discussion that we have, amicably because we know each other, now and then on the terraces. It's not disloyal to want your club to progress. As for supporting somebody else - got any suggestions? (I know one I'm going to get...)

Sittingbourne is a happy place these days - 3rd in the league, only lost three games so far. They're not used to this level of success; they would probably cope better with our current struggles than I am

What an ironic response, I imagine Neil Cugley, Micheal Everitt, Roland Edge and also now Andy Drury would react in a similar way to comments made about them week in week out. Hopefully Pep will consider a part time role at the end of this season…
