Dover have now too been charged with failure to fulfil fixtures by the league. Fine (which they can't pay) and a retrospective points deduction next season is the most likely judgment. However I suspect Dover's aspiration is either expulsion from the league or to resign. Read on a twitter post that there is talk they could potentially take Guernsey's place in the South league should Guernsey wish not to participate again next season.

That would be an odd way to reintroduce acquaintances should it happen (as I assume they'd walk the division & meet us the following season).

Another thing I've read other teams supporters write is that they believe Dover are abusing the furlough scheme as the club haven't been forced to close down operations directly by the government to comply with regulations.

It took them three seasons to walk their way out that division last time they landed in it. They'll also have to assemble practically an entire new squad. Saying that, the old Ryman one South was a lot stronger back then than it is now in it's current format where half of the league were natural county league clubs until they were uprated in the restructuring.

There’s a lot of well funded clubs in the south east division, or at least there was at the start of the season. There’s definitely no guarantee they’d get out of it.
Problem for the National League is that if they relegate them they’ve got an odd number of teams in their top division. Can’t imagine them wanting to have a team in that division not playing every week.

So chucking them out would leave an even number again

Dover’s appeal against £40k fine and 12 points deduction, along with the other 10 National league clubs has failed , a poor decision IMO.

The £40k fine is a bit harsh, although you can kind of understand it. On the other hand, the 12 point deduction is fair enough - pretty sure that if it wasn't for the problem of not knowing who to promote from the two leagues below then they would have been relegated, and I don't think they could have complained if that had happened - after all, they weren't the only club with financial problems, just the only one that didn't complete their fixtures.

Getting big crowds in will help them but they don't get big gates for their league.
On that basis isn't 3000 wildly optimistic?

It is wildly optimistic, and the fans of theirs I have spoken to think it's a bit mad. But why not go for it, given the mess they're in? And anyway, a few years ago you'd have probably been called mad to imagine we'd be getting 800+ in for league games, so no harm in dreaming big!

Mind you next season today could be Dover vs Invicta. Definite 3000 for that.

looking like e tough season ahead..... With a 12 point deduction and a part-time squad in a league where most of teams are full-time, I reckon it would be a minor miracle if they stayed up.

The attempt at a gate of 3000 was originally meant for their opening home game which was then cancelled.

Suppose it’s all about living within your means.with the number of ex league teams in the national league with the financial clout behind them it’s hard to see how DAFC can get out of the do dah they’re in.If Parminter wishes retirement who’s going to take on the financial burden.Weve learned not to spend what you can’t afford

If I was a dover supporter I’d be turning my anger on him after that statement. Speaking to those that are still willing to turn up and pay their money to watch the team get beat every week as if they’re dirt? Bang on about “we need to be together” try giving them a reason to be united rather than serving up dross and expecting people just to pay up out of blind loyalty.
Then having slagged off the fans and told everyone how crap it all is he’s begging for investors at the end. Amazing.
