If it is Roman Campbell - I don't know that it is, but I can't think of anyone else up front at Sittingbourne that we would be likely to be interested in right now - then I would assume that we've signed him to play in the middle up front. He was a Gillingham youth player (I thought he still was, but apparently not) and had loan spells with Sittingbourne. I'd assumed he was on loan again, because I didn't realise he'd left Gillingham, but maybe he's been playing on a non-contracted basis this time. He's strong and skilful on the ball and takes chances well. He's not a target man, being not particularly tall, and pretty average in the air - not bad, just not spectacular. In his first loan spell at Sittingbourne he played as the main central striker and scored a lot of goals. In the current spell, which only started a month or two ago, he has played wider and been less effective. Is he a good player and will he be right for us? Yes, he is a good player and it could well work.

He left Gills in January after his contract was Terminated and obviously signed for Sittingbourne he is set to leave presuming joining us.

Had 2 spells at Sittingbourne, one at Enfield and one at Margate. Terminated his contract with Gillingham at the end of January. Will have played with Finn at Gillingham in their youth teams.

Ah, I've just seen the post from "andy". He's a Sittingbourne fan that I know fairly well, so we can trust that one.

Yes John, Chris Lynch posted the information on our Facebook page this morning.
Folkestone put in a 7 day request for Roman Campbell last week. This is another tough one, as Folkestone are a league above, they are in the play offs currently they have offered him a 1.5 year contract which, should they get promoted, will increase his wage further.
It has been a very difficult decision for Roman personally, which has taken him all week to consider. However, ultimately, after long conversations, Roman reached his final decision late last night and as a result he will play his last game for us this evening v Hayward’s Heath.
The one thing it shows is that we have recruited extremely well this season.. never before have I or anyone at the club, ever had to deal with as many 7 day requests in a single season. Just about everyone of our players, since September, teams from above have been after.
I would like to thank Roman for his spells here, his goal contributions both this and last season, we wish him all the very best in his quest to achieve league football.
