Spoken match report. Now there's a novelty at this level.

Not a bad lot the Carlshalton media and supporters! Didn't leave any rubbish as well (unless someone else cleaned up). The players were more into theatrics though.
We did indeed struggle to get things moving up front until such time when the ball was played out from the back. As for Tyler Sterling! One glance up to spot the goal and wallop in the top left corner! What a goal and what an exciting talent he is.

With Alfie and Callum missing I had bad feelings about today.
Those wanting to know Mev passed a fitness test before the game And was fit to play Mev decided he wanted to play.
Jerson looks like he’s injured his groin again or It’s still recurring I hate to say it but I feel like we could of done with him up top today with Ira and Johan almost playing like Wingers not Strikers it left us with nothing through the middle meaning we near enough created nothing in the first half.
Definitely a penalty Ref would always give it despite the Carshalton player making the most of it.
Two sloppy goals later and we are 3-0 down before Young Tyler scored a beauty of a goal.
3-1 almost became 3-2 as we pushed Late Draycott looked sharper than before.
Overall a disappointing day for the top 3 sides in the league.

Ira did extremely well up front on his own the other day. Yes! This was forced due to a sending off and the ball had to be passed rather than launched, but worked brilliantly with him going more central and taking the defenders on. He really seemed up for it.
Surely an option?

Surely an option? completely different situation. They had to come at us so he had space to run into and ran the channels very well. Yesterday we had a team to break down and unfortunately didn’t remotely look capable of doing it. Ira was back to goal most of the game and wasn’t able to do the things he does well.

With several enforced changes, this was a disjointed performance and luckily the likes of Worthing also went down.Really only one highlight for Invicta was that Tyler goal.Several notable performances from Carshalton but alas too late for this years Oscar awards which I think are this weekend. My nomination has to be their keeper, kept going despite his encounters with the invisible man...

Something that worried me about yesterday, on reflection, was the poor quality of the refereeing. This official seemed to think that pushing is an allowed part of the game. Worrying, because this is the second time in a few weeks that we have encountered an official who clearly was not up to the task at this level.
There must be a shortage of suitable refs out there!

You’re right about some of the refs of late.Ok,it’s not easy especially when players go down too easily and throw in a few rolls ,a scream of pain helps, and then soon up n running.Decent refs quietly get on with the game and hardly noticed but yesterday we saw too much of the ref.Booking Johan for a simulation (not stimulation as one guy close by said) was guesswork, those of us behind the goal saw him going down when defender slid into him to get the ball.

As was the goal kick he gave right in front of us when a defender blocked Tyler’s cross. Makes me laugh people who bang on about how non league is better than the premier league because of all the diving from those soft Mx overpaid wimps. Non league is much worse and they know they can get away with it.

Good point, have noticed the increase in diving at non league level, also aware that the more rolling around means less or no injury incurred.

Especially the idiot who was rolling around until he realised he was over the touch line so jumped up and carried on.

As well as getting a kick out of winding up opposing teams. I just wish we were better at it when we need to be. They seemed to come yesterday for a point and played our reputation and not the XI in front of them. If it hadn’t been for the soft goals we might have ended up with a 0-0 draw and both been happy with it.

It’s not just the opposition team that gets wound up ......Tyson’s goal looks even better, bit further out and no run onto the ball just stood there and wham,no I mean a superb placement.Wouldnt bother with Feb goal of the month comp.

What a strike !! Surely he has to start at Worthing !! he won’t be rushed and he shouldn’t be. Still has a lot to do but Cugley thinks a lot of him and they hope they can turn him into the player he has the talent to be.

Looking at their penalty on the video, it's hard to see a difference between what happens there and what happened with Johan in the second half. In both cases there was a slight contact and the forward made the most of it to go down - but they got a penalty and Johan got a yellow for "diving". C'est la vie, I suppose.

Lee Dyson has now been the ref 4 times this season 3 of those games have ended in defeat for Invicta. Both home league defeats.
