Not sure if this is the right sort of media attention coverage we really want. As i've just heard at 0855 on Talksport Ally McCoist and Gaby Agbonlaror talking about it and falling about with laughter. Derry has gone viral worldwide for the piggy in middle antics.

It was indeed a silly thing to do, but apparently he was sent off for kicking the goalie. I can't see any kick.

I can see a raised foot and some kind of contact; how severe it was is another question - not very I suspect. But it was just so daft of him to put himself in that situation; the game had stopped and wasn't that close to restarting, so the fact that the keeper and the defender were messing around with two balls didn't matter; once the ref signalled for the game to restart, they would have had to throw one of them off (or get booked) and carry on with the game. Tom probably wishes now that he hadn't got involved, especially as he's almost certainly going to get a three match ban for it.

He's made the club a laughing stock as well. I'll be disappointed if he plays for us again, but not surprised given the total lack of discipline shown so far.

Unfortunately from the ref/linesman's view point it did. It doesn't matter if there was no contact, it was just totally unnecessary.
