Cray Valley vs Cray Wanderers on a Tuesday I've been told. Something odd going on.

Dover haven't played a kent team on boxing day for a couple of years now which I know is police advised because they have a couple of idiots who decide to cause trouble, does feel like the league just pulled teams out of the hat though for our fixtures, could of at least given us dartford over the christmas period. Dover were at home Boxing Day last season. And 2021. And 2020. And 2019. And 2018. And 2017. Haven't gone back any further

if crowds are the problem, how is it easier to police them at night rather than daytime? It isn't. The reverse if anything.

Someone on the Dover forum mentioned a petition. Might not make any difference regarding moving the derby fixtures (no free Saturday?) but could show the strength of feeling over this. Thoughts?

On reflection I doubt whether this stupid fixture decision has anything to do with a handful of Dover "fans" who might cause trouble. You might remember 2 years ago they put both our games with Hastings on Tuesday nights and both sets of fans were pissed off. Why they do it is because they think away fans/teams won't want to do a long trip on a weekday evening. Makes some sense for fans, I guess, but not for players since most aren't local. But in this case Makes no sense as it will cost both clubs a few thousand in lost gate money. You really have to wonder about the intelligence of the "suits" concerned.

Dover are not bothered when we play. The club or their fans, Colin? To go by the comments on their forum, their fans are just as unhappy about it as we are.

A petition to who? Way over the top and would achieve nothing. What might help going forward would be the club writing a polite letter to the league expressing its disappointment (assuming it is disappointed) and that of its fans over the scheduling of the Dover fixtures - maybe a joint letter from us and Dover if they are similarly disappointed.

Non league paper picked up on it Seems like it is probably an interesting article, but, unless you have a Non-League Paper subscription, you can't read past the opening paragraph. If it's in the NLP itself, I'll be able to read it tomorrow (NLP, as usual, hasn't reached my newsagent today).

It's just a reader letter, three or four pars, sadly not a full piece dealing with this fixture debacle
