Lift available tomorrow picking up Lyminge about 13:10 or Elham 13:15. Call me 862619 if interested.
Apropos of nothing to do with tomorrow can anyone remember the name of the wonderful old military march which used to be played in the old days when the players took to the pitch at Cheriton Rd?

I think someone may have given you some duff info, Dunc. If we're talking about the real old days of Folkestone Town, it was a French military march called "Le Rêve Passé"
Here's a link to it on YouTube:
Must have heard it hundreds of times in the 60s and 70s.

The ones I am mentioning are from the early 1970s, so probably changed from Le Rêve Passé at that time. Thanks Stumpy et al, and with Bill Patrick I recall Jim Scannell (and later Albert Cochrane), Annie Oakley, Chopper Woodison, Denis Churms, Jeff Ireland, Tony Biggs, Johnny Tredwell, Joe Tyrrell. No subs, pretty much always the same XI! I do hope the club gets nostalgic and revives this intro. A bit of Google research tells us it's a French song ("The Dream Passes") written to celebrate Napoleonic conquests. The title could be a present day reference to the appalling folly that is Brexit!

I think I would have taken this result before the game, because I fancy us on on our turf on Tuesday night.
But we we had to go through a pulsating and nerve wracking second half to achieve it. Going ahead to a wonderful strike from Ira in the 87th minute we thought we had won it. But there was a long way to go with this eccentric referee adding what seemed like endless time added on.
They equalised in the 94th minute and it must have been in about the 100th minute that they missed a complete sitter to win the game.
I have never seen so many pulling of jerseys and outright pulling players over going unpunished.
Yellow cards were being dished out left right and centre for minor offences which in due course led to Ryan being sent off for two yellows. One apparently for kicking the ball away { didn't see it } and the second for a late tackle.
We opened the scoring after three minutes with a beautifully constructed goal. Transitioned from back to front, lovely reverse pass to free Jordan , cross, and a big leap from Ibs to nod home.
We did create a few more chances after that which went unfinished but mostly played on the break. Could argue that really we should have gone in more than the one goal ahead.
Gayle still not fit so Moses came in and had a fine game at centre back partnering Callum. Kane Penn move to right back as Barton was unavailable with Ryan at left back until his sending off .
Drury. Cole and Heardie midfield. Jordan , Dave Smith ( who very sharp today…kept being fouled too. Ignored by this useless ref ) and Ibs up top.
So. all in all we will take the result and before hopefully a big crowd on Tuesday try and go through to the next round COYS!

It's always the same when refs get "new directives"; they fixate on these and common sense refereeing goes out of the window. This seasons directives? - Let the game flow (i.e. ignore "small" fouls) and penalise anyone who delays a restart, even if for only a short time and so early in the game it hardly matters, and even if they haven't heard the whistle or haven't had time to react to it. There's also the increased stoppage time, but I haven't got an issue with that at all, because time wasting (or "game management" as the pros like to call it) is cheating, is annoying and had got out of hand.

Unable to get to the game so I listened to the excellent commentary. Sounded like we were hard done by with a few of the decisions. Many references were made to the shirt swopping efforts of Sterling before the final whistle. Shame they went unpunished.

Ref made it all about him today you felt the game wasn't going to end 11v11, I have to say Margate looked poor and we had full control of the game till the red card, onto Tuesday if we can repeat todays performance I think we will be alright Tuesday.

Attendance 692? I don't think so. The place wasn't exactly crammed but I would have put it nearer 900.
