So much for giving fringe players and youngsters game time . Not really surprised. I bet the players were thrilled being dragged down to West Sussex 48 hours after their exertions and the long and tiring trip to Wrexham.

Forget this nonsense in West Sussex, back to Cheriton Road and winning ways on Saturday. We can concentrate on a top 5 finish and the play offs now.

Scintillating second-half performance from the lads, as good as anything this season. Five goals, missed penalty (Ade )and hit the woodwork three times, (the strike from Alfie was awesome hit the angle and nearly broke the goal). Jordan`s underside of the bar and down onto the goalline. So it could well have been eight. It did not look like it in the first half. This was a young skilful Chichester side, playing the ball out from the back and playing some really nice football. Their goals came from a header following a free kick on our right-back position. Their tall number four got up on his own at the near post to put them one up. Their second, just before halftime was another case of Tim and Callum not talking again. So, somewhat against the run of play, we went in for the break 2-0 down. We started tonight with Jordan on the right and Alfie left, playing deeper than Jordan ( excellent tonight too ) to offset their dangerous ten. Mev holding midfield , winning the ball and driving the team. RJ came in for Matt Newman in what looked like a three at the back until Alfie dropped and it looked more of a four. Whatever, it worked, particularly in that terrific second half. Draycs played as good as I've seen him this season. His first goal, when he took the ball from deep and placed it inside the far post was a beauty. Kieron came on and played in what is for me his best position, midfield. Looked full of energy and strength. We also brought on the young Lenny Aterton towards the end and he looks like a proper player. Quick and skilful. We really asserted ourselves physically too in that second half, dominating possession throughout. Two more goals too for Ade who looked too strong for them all night. If we take that second-half performance with us to Worthing next Tuesday it should be some game. Great comeback from our lads after Saturday's disappointment. COYS!

So much for giving fringe players and youngsters game time . Not really surprised. I bet the players were thrilled being dragged down to West Sussex 48 hours after their exertions and the long and tiring trip to Wrexham. Just to be clear, as I also had to read this word for word on Twitter: Connor got 45 minutes in the second half, Lenny Atherton got 10 minutes in between travelling to wrexham on Saturday, 90 minutes on Sunday, 90 minutes again tomorrow, joining the first team again on Saturday and probably another 90 minutes on Sunday. Mev, Draycott and Jordan also all started having not done much so recently, while Ollie Freeman has an injury. So I’m just curious as to what other fringe players and youngsters should have been given more game time?

Anyway, we started off 3 at the back and switched it probably about 10 minutes in. Still lacked any real urgency, work rate or tempo but shouldn’t have been behind at half time, just 2 poor goals to concede.
Came out second half and ran through them like the proverbial knife through butter. 4 of the 5 were very good goals, Draycott’s second coming from a mistake he forced from the keeper but the others were all very well worked moves.
Alfie was his usual brilliant self, Draycott looked the best I’ve seen him for a while, Kieron looked very sharp when he came on against a tiring midfield, Connor is very good with his feet and distribution and I feel sorry for him that he’s conceded a late goal given he’d not had anything to keep him ticking over until that point.
125 in attendance. I’d doubt there were more than 10 paying Invicta supporters which is to be expected. An absolute farce of a draw, regionalised into north and south which saw us unable to draw some Kent club but instead travelling on a 230 mile round trip. Not beneficial for either club or indeed the league if they want clubs to take the competition serious or even enter going forward.
But regardless, It was in the end an enjoyable cup tie and I’m looking forward to the trip to Penzance in the next round.

What may have seemed a fairly pointless long midweek trip may well signal a return to the exciting football we were playing earlier in the season.
With Jordan right and Alfie left, whether in a three or four, we looked like a more balanced team, especially in the second half. It was great to see good performances too from Draycs, (looking like the player of his goal scoring years! ) and Kieron in midfield when he came on. A valuable full ninety minutes from Mev too. Bossed it in there, especially in the second half.
Despite his slip for their third young Connor Collins looked very competent and capable should we need to call on him. All of which leaves the manager with a tricky selection job going forward.
With Matt Newman back we will have fourteen players all playing well. Personally ,I hope that whichever players he picks that he goes with last night`s formation.

Game of 2 halves IMO. I felt we let them play in the first half and it cost us 2 goals .Tightened it up second half and played some really good football,Kieran looked impressive as a centre midfielder .Some good performances all round with Newman, Heardy and Freeman to come back into contention.I did see the word rotation used by Cugley will this be the start ? As with the other young players the fans want to see them playing and given a fair chance to develope.Good to see Lenny is actually playing football ,but was not last night a golden opportunity to have a good look at him play .The pub was warm and cosy

Yes of course how could I.
So some interesting selection choices for the management team.
If we play like we did in the second half we can match anyone in our league.
Lance ? Yes snug pub wasn't it.!
