I'm contemplating wearing my Invicta shirt to watch the match feed. Is that a bit geeky?

I was interested to see, on my return from holiday, that Bromley beat Wrexham 1-0 in the FA Trophy final. Two reasons: 1st, Wrexham lost (and apparently also missed out on promotion!) but mainly because Bromley was where I first got interested in non-league football. Back in the day, they played in the Isthmian league against sides such as Sutton United, Corinthian Casuals and Wimbledon, along with a number of other names that are still around. I recall that they had won the Amateur Cup, but they are proud to now have won the FA Trophy. I must admit, though, I don't recall them being called "The Ravens"!

I remember, when I was at the Harvey, we used to play in the annual Ravensbourne Sixes at Ravensbourne school in Bromley. It was a bit weird - six-a-side on a full sized pitch with a funny scoring system where you got so many points for scoring a goal (can't remember how many) and one point for a corner, and it was tiring because you played quite a few games pretty close together. It was considered quite a thing to win amd we tended to do quite well in it; the year I played, although we hadn't had a great eleven-a-side season, we got to the final and only lost narrowly, I think to the hosts, but can't remember for sure.

Yes, remember those Bromley sixes very well. In the year that I played, 1967 I think, Alan Philpott drove us up in a minibus. You jogged my memory about that scoring system as well. I didn't understand it then, so no chance remembering it now!

We might have won if we'd still had them.

Also played in the Ravensbourne Sixes and my recollection is that 4 points were awarded for a goal and one point for a corner, surely not too complicated for a grammar school pupil ππ

We won our semi final thanks to that; we were largely under the cosh but somehow conceded only one goal and no corners; then, right at the end, we got a corner which was headed in, so we won by a point.
