Ends that way. We're 7 points behind them with a game in hand.

FT 3-0 Sounded a tough one. Well done team. It wasn't that tough, or shouldn't have been against very ordinary opposition. It wouldn't have been very tough at all if the ref had given the most obvious penalty you have ever seen in the first half when it was 1-0. He must have been feeling very guilty as he gave us not one but two in the second half that were both less obvious - I'm not saying that they were not pens, just less nailed on than the first half one. All this game did for me was reinforce my view that we are less strong with a back four than we were with a back five - nowhere near as good going forward and more stretched at the back as well - a lose/lose situation as far as I can see.

We played from the back today and what an improvement. I can’t be sure how much of this was down to the quality of the opposition. Playing a back four however. Leaves us unbalanced and we should revert to a five as we adopted at the beginning of the season..

I'm beginning to take our great attendances for granted. But I shouldn't. This is a great turn out again.

But we bagged 3 points so no complaints.

I agree with Biffo and Stumpy on our system. We beat an average team today. We were never in any danger of not winning it. Some people say that style doesn't matter as long as you are winning. I disagree. I still feel that the best football we have played this season was with wing-backs. We play down the left with some craft but a lot of our football is heavily based on the early ball up Dave Smith or Ade. It works because they are good players and difficult to mark and are scoring well. But I found it far more attractive the way we were playing in the early part of the season, spreading the play and then getting it to the front two. Perhaps that`s being hypercritical given our position in the league ( results all went our way today ) and a game in hand but that's my feeling about it anyway. We won 3-0 with two penalties and another back post goal from JV, Volley this time too!! Three now that I can recall. Second with a game in hand, terrific position and puts us right in the mix. Tricky one up next, another plastic pitch at Horsham but a more modern one if my memory serves me and nice new ground too. COYS!! Another over 800 crowd today .Terrific.

Have to disagree with Biffo, Stumpy and Gerry. One system doesn't always work its dependant on who you are up against and what players are available. 4-4-2 has its place along with a 3-5-2 the issue we have is that we are lopsided no matter what option we go for. We need Aaron to compliment Alfie on the left and let Kieron switch to the right and or find another right sided midfielder/wingback or find an Aaron replacement. I do wonder if Freeman could do that role given the opportunity. Alternatively we adopt the Christmas tree formation as per Dave Bassett🤣🤣

Are my ears playing up (along with everything else) or does Edgy seem to think that Alfie took both the pens that we scored from?

On the subject of penalty takers, does anyone know who our designated penalty taker is? Is it Alfie or is it whichever of the main strikers has yet to score that game? For both penalties Alfie went forward to take them only to seemingly be overruled first by Ade and then by Smith. I appreciate the most important thing is that these are converted and I guess Alfie is not going to argue with either of them but, I wouldn't have been too happy if I was expecting to take one of them and got gazumped (not that I would have scored either).
Do I recall Cugs saying a few games back that he would not be expecting Ade to be taking any more after a poor miss?...or did I imagine it?

Spot on No5. I suppose strikers are a law unto themselves. Good job neither missed though !!
