Yep, saw that - but still no mention of it on our twitter, which is strange. And all the bookings in the second half - did the ref have a melt-down or did we? There was mention on Twitter but the "Media Team" let emotions get the better of them and called the referee "the worst referee ever". Thoroughly unprofessional and they correctly deleted it after some bad comments back. The people doing our Twitter have done some good work getting numbers up but I've noticed a few times lately some posts that make the club look silly. So our media team let their emotions get the better of them and they deleted their comments after some bad comments back. And yet you've decided to put it on the forum? Should this not be deleted as well? The team do a really good job as you mention so let's leave it. They've done the right thing but it didn't need putting on here unless you have an ulterior motive?

Thing is, when you are top of the league, you have to moan about something. It's just how we are built.

Worst one sided refereeing I’ve seen...they had one booked,we had six on field bookings, a Paxman a red following his earlier yellow. After the whistle Edgy had words with the official and booked as did McKenzie .probably enquiring why no free kick to us on the edge of the box as he was wrestled to the ground in the final couple of minutes.Paxman unlucky as he won the ball cleanly.Couple of bookings due to having words with the ref but that was more thru frustration affecting the players. On the day we didn’t play well,Johan struggled on the uneven pitch and perhaps surprisingly McCann didn’t come on as a sub and McKenzie not on til 20 min left replacing Jackson.Edgy in charge what with MeV playing and Cugs unable to be there as Mrs C is unwell.

Stumpy...strangely,or perhaps not,the mysterious case of the disappearance of Mr Hoare half way thru a game was discussed on the coach home...I didn’t witness that game but today....I know we do come across crap refs but if they’re consistent with both sides that’s not so bad but today that wasn’t the case.He didn’t look fit, taken in by the way the regents kept going down with yelps of pain and kept stopping the game, twice Heard was caught, went down and the ref waved play on.All so frustrating to watch.

Was def a red in the game. Not that is was a red but.. Sounds from one of the players like it was an all out battle out there today I thought Alfie won the ball cleanly, but the ref had other ideas and brandished the (straight?)red card while the Brightlingsea player writhed around in agony, that was until Alfie was walking off and he felt a bit better and was springing about like a lamb shortly after. Perhaps that was the source of two or three yellows for dissent. Alfie had to be dragged away he was so incensed. If only it was a dirty game it would have been easy to pin that down as the cause of so many yellows, but it was not really. I have never seen a ref brandish so many cards for comparatively few indiscretions. I hope I never see him ref another game. As for the game we were not on top form and a draw was probably about right. Both teams decided to go the aerial route mostly due to the uneven pitch which made for a scrappy game, especially the first half. Second half we were better, but couldn't get the killer goal. Brightlingsea defended in depth and launched few attacks.

Awful pitch, awful game, beyond awful ref (and linesman )about the only thing good about today was the lovely old pub we found before the game. Should have stayed there It was impossible to play our normal passing game on this surface so we got drawn into a mostly hoof ball game that did not suit us. They were well up fo it and treated the game like a cup tie. Add to that an outrageously incompetent and biased referee and you can imagine how frustrating it all became. I felt also that we did not help ourselves with our use of the bench. Kieron McCann`s touch and strength on the ball were badly needed. Never got a minute of time on the pitch. Chinny got about fifteen minutes even though Jerson was not having a happy time of it. ( Could not count how many times he was given offside ). Neither could I understand taking Ira off, towards the end when we were chasing a goal! And then, to top it all, Alfie, who had been our best player by a mile, gets a red for a late sliding tackle ( seemed to cleanly win the ball to me ) means a number of games out for someone who was our standout player on the day. Some of the ref's decisions had to be seen to be believed. At one point Chinny was wrestled to the ground, on the edge of their box, incredibly, the ref, who was right next to the incident waved play on. Chinny remonstrated with the ref about it after the game and was booked for his trouble! So, we can console ourselves with the point gained and with the fact that the other leaders in our league have dropped points today also. We are still top, On goal difference.

Their manager thought it was a good tackle. Unfortunately I don’t think it’ll have come out on camera. Alfie every right not to be happy. Chinny’s booking was for saying “you didn’t have a good game”.

As for the twitter post, Joel’s 16 and so i don’t expect him to be getting everything right. And when he doesn’t I tell him and listens (I think ). I’d rather have somebody who is hard working (some times ) and enthusiastic but makes mistakes than somebody who does a bad job or nobody at all. If anybody ever has an issue with anything we do I’m always happy to listen. If you don’t then don’t complain.

Think Chinny had every right to feel aggrieved,so clearly bundled over in front of the ref towards the end...just hope that’s the last we see of that ref.Im sure that most of us at the club are grateful for the amount of work the media team put in to raise the profile of the club and bring the latest news to the supporters, stepping up to the plate after Sam left the area.As Anthony says,Joel is still learning but can’t fault his enthusiasm. At least like the few of us volunteers,we do have the best interests of the club at heart and our website and lively at times forum is always up to date with the news, reports unlike some .....

Well i have been a supporter for what seems 100 years that ref was up there with the worst ever ,so one sided it had to be seen to believe,it wasnt a dirty game , he was so overweight i recon he continually stopped the play so that he could catch up with play . Alfie should never have been sent off i can fully understand his frustration , we will miss him , best player on the day by a mile . some of the bookings were farcical , players diving about screeching ,then jumping up fit as a fiddle , unbelievable . Joels frustration was understanderble ,Cannot imagine what sort of comment our friend Corky would have made keep up the good work lads ,see you all soon .

Always led to believe that the best refs are those who are hardly noticed on the pitch.....

Chinny’s booking was for saying “you didn’t have a good game”. When was the last time we had a successful appeal for a red? I suspect the FA aren't too thrilled to have the authority & judgement of their ref called into question, even if they are sometimes wrong? Chinny’s comment seems rather mild for a yellow card, he was right though!

Unless you’ve filmed it it’s very difficult to see a reason why they’ve overturn it and until recently we haven’t had that so this is the first incident we could have but it was out of shot. Missing Haringey and 2 Bognor games is a real blow.
