Surely we have to make a change? One league win in nearly two months. It’s relegation form and we are sleepwalking towards the bottom. Anyway, I sound like a broken record and am probably in the minority. Obviously I want to get behind the managers/coaches but they aren’t making it easy.

Don’t think it is the minority view any longer. A free weekend to sort things out, get the players fit, a formation set, and tactics right. What happens? A new signing 24 hours before the match and goes straight into the eleven. More and more there is a feeling nobody much bothering with the playing side anymore as long as there are eleven names on a team sheet.

When they are putting considerable amounts of their own money in on a number of Projects and also supporting the playing side. In my opinion, they will learn about the playing side in due course and this is when you will see change.

Embarrassing from our supporters today, it seemed most wanted us to lose Bogey team, we nearly always lose to Carshalton. Trouble is we are losing to everybody else right now....

I'd say 7 from the beginning of season although we have 2 out on loan plus 1 out injured and Calum suspended, but I can see where your coming from this squad needs to be settled with the right coaching and if that means training twice a week do be it..

Second best all afternoon I`m afraid.
No Gaylie or Callum, so Moses and Goodman came in to cover center backs. No Drury in midfield and Heardie was hooked at halftime. Midfield bypassed today anyway, so it would not matter who was in there! Up top Ira was on the bench until the second half. So this did not look like the team, or play like the team up at Hornchurch last time out. No Smith today either.
Familiar weakness at corners. Two of their goals came from them, the other a brilliant individual goal from their impressive number nine who gave us problems all game. One positive our new young, tall left back had a good game [understudy to Greenie at Hornchurch apparently ].
Our goal also came following a corner, a solid header from Jake Goodman.
The problem as I see them is that the replacements for the departing players of last year have not been so far, up to that standard. The other thing is we do not have a system or shape we can build around. Also to me, team selection has been a bit baffling, especially the use of Ababbio and Ira.
We still have time to turn the season round but we must get our best side on the park AND give them a system of playing they buy into. COYS!

Getting an experienced manager in would be a good start. The two running the team just aren’t good enough.

Aren't most managers ex players. If you ever need proof you don't have to be anywhere near playing football to get a job as a manager, check Carlos Alberto Parreira's CV.

To add salt to our wounds at the moment, it is galling to watch Ramsgate in the league below us, who included two of our ex players,Taylor and Paxman go through to the 2nd round of the FA Cup.
Well done to them!!

Playing a 3-5-2 according to their website. Presumably with the two Paxmans as wingbacks.
Taylor part of a two up top. If only....

Well done to them!! Very well done indeed, that was a great result, plus they had Tom Hadler in goal who was briefly with us on loan years ago, he made some cracking saves. Nice to see Alfie set up the winner, pleased for him. They got a great tie away at AFC Wimbledon as well as a reward. Also shout out to Cray Valley PM for the draw at Charlton. One year it might be us!

Ironically, Ramsgate have got the same draw as we did in 1965. After a great away win at Gillingham in the 1st round, we drew Wimbledon away at Plough Lane and won 1-0. We all held our breath on the Monday glued to the radio for the draw. Would it be Man Utd, Liverpool or one of the big London clubs? Nah, we drew Crewe Alexandra at home, a game that we lost 5-1. Good luck to Ramsgate

Regular forum users with long memories will recall previous threads in April and May this year voicing concerns at lack of action in player recruitment Several members of the side had already left for pastures new or were going imminently. At the time it was recorded that goalkeeper Tom Hadler was leaving Maidstone and the Paxman brothers had indicated they would very much like to play together in same side. Opinion about finance being an issue in their signings were not substantiated. Ramsgate made the deals happen and clearly their quick and decisive action paying dividends now. Meanwhile at Cheriton road…….
