Well that was a bolt out of the blue, lets hope we can find a team who haven't played or trained since end of season where Dartford have.
Rant over,, i will see if i can arrange a coach tomorrow so would like provisional names so i know what to try to book if anyone even wants a coach.. John..

Absolutely gutted by this, what should have been a brilliant occasion for the club now feels totally devalued. Sad

Agree RDG, first Wrexham now this.
I would avoid booking a coach, rumours are we have many players away on holiday, could struggle to field a team!!

Yeah, biggest cup tie in ages behind closed doors and now this. I'm happy to have Hythe be the last game of the season

How on earth have the Kent FA come up with this? Dartford have play offs this Thursday, possibly Sunday then final on the 21st! If Dartford win on Thursday there is no way they put anything like a recognisable team out. Assume if our guys are on holiday we are playing kids as well? What a way to devalue the final, might as well not bother with this competition next year if this is how they treat it.

What about players out of contract can they play, or are they still under contract until the final is played?

What about players out of contract can they play, or are they still under contract until the final is played? If you want to keep players on after the end of the league season you would have to accept that they will want paying for their services such as training and travelling as well as actually playing. Plus you cannot play youth team players unless already signed up for the Isthmian league and of course cup-tied guys continue to be unavailable. Hardly Invicta's concern but Dartford could even be in a worse position on the day. Had Hythe managed a result at Reachfields I do not think they could have played this game--or even afforded to do so. But hang on--you get fined for not fulfilling a fixture as well as not having any choice when it comes to next season's competition. What a mess.

Stadium to stadium:-
Dartford to Chatham: 15 miles. 25 mins by car, 1 hour public transport. Folkestone to Chatham: 40 miles. 1 hour bay car, 1.5 hours (via Ebbsfleet - effectively nearly in Dartford) to 2 hours via public transport (no trains back if extra time).
Having in Maidstone would have made it a bit more mid-way, although still closer to Dartford but public transport times the same for both clubs.
I reckon the Kent FA have got it in for us in this competition.........

This is down to the FA not the Kent FA. The FA will not let it be played next season.

This is down to the FA not the Kent FA. The FA will not let it be played next season. If that's a rule that is in place, they should have known that and communicated it to the club's prior to allowing everyone to leave for the summer. And the decision to stage it at a ground we can't get home from on public transport if it goes beyond 90 mins is surely down to the Kent FA. Shambles all round

Then they should had fixed a date and place at the beginning of the season, you can't expect clubs to find a team at a weeks noticed when you've finished a season and probably contracts have expired.

I have to agree that while I don’t understand the FA rules on continuing a cup into next season, this is due to poor planning from the start.
The draw for the first round was not made until 26th October and it kicked off on 30th November, once the 2019/20 competition had been completed.
By comparison the Senior Trophy for this season began (with a preliminary round) in September, the 1st round taking place mid October, roughly 6 weeks before the Senior Cup.
Essex, Suffolk, Hertfordshire all finished before the season did, Sussex took place last night with the date and location having been announced 2 months ago, Surrey is also next week and was announced at least a week ago.

one for me please John.
The team have fought hard to reach the final, now let's support them to glory and get their reward by playing on the hallowed 3G turf in Kent's most prestigious stadium in the jewel of the Medway Towns.
Ra Ra KFA!

I’d encourage anybody who plans to drive to the game to offer a lift to any fellow supporters. If anybody needs help finding a lift once the bus is full I’m happy to help find you one. The lads deserve to play in front of the biggest support we can get there on Tuesday night and no supporter who wishes to go should miss out.
